<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Meetings 2nd Tuesdays at COSC, 12 – 1:30 pm April 5 (note, no March meeting) <br />within Orange County, a vibrant and engaging quality of life for seniors living in community by building trusted and reciprocal relationships through social engagement, education, practical support and assistance <br />and trouble-shooting such groups <br />• Engaging Issues Series: Team has developed focus speaker series on issues relating to aging well in community, and open to the public <br />• Team held a December 2015 presentation by <br />Bolton Anthony on “Reimagining your Neighborhood to Create Community” at the Chapel Hill Public Library, and “Person <br />Environment Fit: Making Your Home <br />Environment Support Your Successful Aging” seminar at CH Pubic Library, January 2016 <br />Faith-Based <br />Outreach Team <br /> <br />Meetings 1st Mondays at COSC, 10 – 11:30 am <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mission: To serve as an outreach channel and resource for Project EngAGE SRTs, as well as the Department on Aging, to distribute information, education, and opportunities to the faith-based community <br />• Team operates as an open distribution <br />channel, working with congregations, recognizing their means to deliver information within their organizations, and that they are uniquely poised to encourage participation in aging-related events and resources. <br />• The team works with congregations to host <br />educational programs developed by other SRTs, such as wellness, falls prevention, end of life planning, nutrition/hunger, neighborhood building and the community visitation project. <br />• The team held March 2015 Faith & Aging <br />Symposium at Hillsborough Senior Center location <br />• The team has held two November 2015 Faith & <br />Senior Hunger symposiums & authored accompanying Senior Hunger how-to- <br />resource-guide around supporting nutritional needs of aging at two local congregations <br />• The team is planning to work with several area <br />faith-based organizations to help them develop older adult nutrition-based <br />programs. <br />• The team is preparing a widely distributed “Newsletter” offering to hold number of evidence-based and Project EngAGE based programs on-site, as well as programs from the other SRTs. <br />Caregiver <br />Support Team <br /> <br />Meetings <br />Mission: To provide caregivers with essential education and resources, as <br />• As its first initiative, this new team is studying different aspects of available caregiving support and resources <br />• Team has been trained as businesses are
