Mr. Passmore stated that there was some equipment that was not included in the <br />construction budget for the new center. Moveable walls for one of the large rooms were <br />not in the plans yet as well as AV for the auditorium and other equipment. He stated that <br />this equipment would be addressed in the upcoming capital budget process. <br /> <br />Ms. Mariah McPherson reported that the Design Committee for the Central Orange <br />Senior Center had begun meetings and that on February 28 they toured other centers in <br />Cary, Durham, and Burlington. Each facility had some things to consider for the new <br />center. <br /> <br />Ms. Florence Soltys reported that the Master Aging Plan Sub-Committees were <br />submitting reports to the Steering Committee and that on March 23 four sub-groups of <br />the Steering Committee would address these reports. <br /> <br />Mr. Passmore stated that the Board needed to consider in a future meeting appointments <br />to the Friends of the Central Orange Senior Center and Chapel Hill Senior Center. <br />He also reported that the County Manager had approved funding for the last two issues <br />for 2006 of the Senior Times. Also, a request for special funds from Triangle United <br />Way may be possible for at least one edition. <br /> <br />Ms. Florence Soltys announced that acclaimed author, William Colby would appear at <br />the UNC School of Nursing at 3:30 pm and at the Friday Center at 7:00 pm on April 6. <br /> <br />Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Jerry M.
