<br /> <br />Title: Erosion Control Officer I Number: 205 <br />Department: Planning & Inspections/OPT Type: F/T w Benefits / Hourly <br />Salary Range: Grade 17 Location: Orange County <br /> <br /> <br />General Statement of Duties <br /> <br />Performs entry-level plan review and site inspections to enforce erosion control and <br />stormwater portions of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and supports the <br />Engineering group in performing various duties related to utility infrastructure in Orange <br />County. <br /> <br />Distinguishing Features of the Position <br /> <br />An employee in this position enforces the erosion control and stormwater portions of the <br />Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Work is performed under regular supervision <br />of the Engineering and Stormwater Division Supervisor, with technical direction and <br />oversight provided by the Erosion Control Officer II position. <br /> <br />Illustrative Examples of Work <br /> <br />Part of the regulatory team that ensures land development in Orange County complies <br />with the Unified Development Ordinance of Orange County. <br />Evaluates and reviews applications for subdivision and other development proposals by <br />engineers, developers and home owners for compliance. <br />Facilitates the regulatory and approval processes by answering questions from and <br />coordinating with stakeholders, including the applicant, the general public, construction <br />personnel and other government entities. <br />Performs surface water identifications (SWID’s). <br />Ensures other contingent permits have been issued. <br />Schedules and conducts pre-construction meetings to issue land disturbance permits and <br />performs site inspections during construction to ensure compliance with the approved <br />plans and specifications. <br />Issues notices of violation (NOV’s) and stop work orders including revocation of land <br />disturbance permits. <br />Ensures data in land management central permitting system (LMCPS) and other <br />departmental information systems are accurate and up-to-date. <br />Adheres to the department’s safety rules and regulations. <br /> <br />Performs other related duties as required. <br /> <br />Attachment 1 3
