He said the County is not opposed to a small commercial node, if <br />the density levels exist to support one. He said the community wanted to preserve the <br />environmental lands, some old house structures, and historic roads. He said Reverend <br />Campbell was part of these discussions. <br />Commissioner Marcoplos asked if the east side is available for affordable housing. <br />Craig Benedict said yes, and access to it would need to be from the north. <br />Alderman Slade said as the land is publicly owned, there is greater control over what <br />happens on the land, and he would like to find a way to honor the Rogers Road community's <br />wish for a commercial node. <br />Alderman Chaney said the questions are a bit limiting and she hopes all governments <br />will discuss these topics broadly and creatively, keeping funding and financing opportunities in <br />mind. She said a grocery store will be important in this area. <br />6.
