CONDITION 13 (k) SIGNAGE – Staff and BOCC members requested the submittal of <br />a rendering of the landmark and entry portal signs for consideration. <br />STAFF COMMENT: Renderings, and proposed location, of signage <br />was submitted by the applicant for review at the Planning Board’s January 10, <br />2018 meeting. <br /> <br />The Board voted unanimously to recommend approval of the proposed landmark <br />and entry portal signage as depicted in the submitted rendering(s). For more <br />information please refer to Attachment 5. <br /> <br />The sign rendering is contained within Attachment 7. <br /> <br />e. CONDITION 13 (k) (iii) (2) (e) ILLUMINATION OF SIGNAGE - A BOCC member <br />requested clarification on the method that will be used to illuminate signage. A <br />recommended condition indicated all signs shall be internally illuminated while <br />language indicates external lighting would be allowed for entry portal signs. <br />STAFF COMMENT: This was an error on staff’s part and has been corrected. <br />For more information please refer to Attachment 4. <br /> <br />f. LAND USE – SCHOOLS, Elementary, Middle, and Secondary: There was general <br />discussion on allowing for the development of a school (i.e. elementary, middle, high <br />school, etc.) within the project. <br />STAFF COMMENT: Staff has reached out to the Superintendent and Chair of <br />the Orange County School District to inquire on the need for a school south of <br />Interstate 40. <br />The applicant, after conferring with the Director, has removed the SCHOOLS, <br />Elementary, Middle, and Secondary as an allowable land use within the project. <br />The conditions of approval, as contained in Attachment 11, have been updated <br />accordingly. <br /> <br />g. UTILITY CONDITION(S): There was general discussion on the imposition of <br />conditions associated with the extension of utilities to serve the project in general. A <br />BOCC member asked staff to review the recommended condition(s) to ensure <br />potential issues had been addressed. <br />STAFF COMMENT: At its January 10, 2018 meeting, the Board voted <br />unanimously to recommend approval of the proposed utility conditions as <br />contained in Attachment 11. <br /> <br />2. Transportation Impact Analysis (TIA): On December 4, 2017 the applicant submitted a <br />revised TIA providing additional detail on anticipated traffic impacts/required <br />improvements associated with the project. This was in response to staff requests for <br />additional detail.
