This covered storage area resembles <br />active ASTs when viewed can aerial photography. The covered storage area does not <br />represent a REC of the site. <br />The site is bounded on the south by residential dwallings, followed by Highway 70. <br />,Additional residential dwellings are located on the south side of Highway 70. <br />The site is bounded on the west by residential dwellings, two ponds, wooded land, and <br />pasture land. Residential dwellings and pasture land extend over 1,004 feet west. <br />Vill. HISTORICAL REVIEW <br />`V'111.1. Sanborn Mapping <br />The Sanborn Library includes more than 1.2 million fire insurance maps from Sanborn. <br />Bromley, Perris & Browne, Hopkin ,5, Barlow and others which track historical property <br />usage in approximately 12,000 American cities and towns. The site is located in an area <br />that was not mapped by the Sanborn company (Appendix E). <br />V111.2.. City Directories <br />The Orange County Public Library In Hillsborough, forth Carolina does not have city <br />directories available for review, HEnv reviewed the Haines and Polk City Directories at <br />the Chapel Hill Public Library. Directories for the years 1980 to 2016 are available for <br />review and include listings for Orange County. However, the directories do not include <br />listings for Mebane, North Carolina. <br />The site is located in a historically rural area with no coverage available in the city <br />directories. Based on the information obtained from other historical resources, the lack <br />of city directory data does not represent a data gap. <br />il1111.3. Aerial Photography <br />We have reviewed aerial photographs of the site and surrounding properties for <br />evidence of farmer usage which may constitute a potential for environmental concern. <br />HEnv obtained the historic aerial photographs from the Orange Counter Snail and Water <br />Conservation District and the NC One Pap online mapping resource. The aerial <br />photographs reviewed were dated 1930. 1942, 1955, 1966, 1982, 1993, 2008. and 2013 <br />(Appendix E). <br />1938 and 1955 Aerial Photographs - The central portion of the site is mapped as <br />agricultural land. Wooded land is located on the northeastern, southern, and <br />northwestern portions of the site. Wooded land, agricultural land, and residential <br />dwellings are mapped throughout the site vicinity. Highway 70 is located approximately <br />450 feet south of the site. <br />1965 Aerial Photograph - A man -made pond is visible on the southern portion of the <br />site. The remainder of the site and surrounding properties appear similar to the 1955 <br />photograph. <br />15 <br />
