If so, how often? Yes. I use the Chapel Hill Transit, most frequently the NS and V bus <br />I also am a regular user of the GoTriangle 805 bus as I use that to commute to work from Chape Hill. <br />I have also used the 105 to get to Raleigh after work and the 700 and 405 to get to / from Durham <br />Would you be willing to try public transit? <br />Yes. In fact, I already use it frequently <br />Describe the importance of transit with regards to affordable housing and land use planning. <br />Good, and reliable public transit is essential for affordable housing for several reasons. <br />(1) It reduces the cost of car ownership to families (2) It reduces the costs of hosing projects by reducing parking <br />facilities. (3) It reduces the amount of impermeable surface needed to support cars. <br />(4) It permits more space to be used for housing instead of car storage <br />Describe the importance of transit with regards to individuals with handicaps or disabilities. <br />People who are unable to drive themselves due to disabilities become stranded at home, and dependant <br />on others to get to work each day and also to common appointments. <br />These barriers cna prevent people from holding good jobs due to lack of options for getting to work. <br />
