ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: August 22, 2006 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 5-U <br />SUBJECT: Interim County Manager Appointment Terms <br />DEPARTMENT: Commissioners/Manager <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (YIN) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Terms of Appointment <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Barry Jacobs, Chair, 919-245-2125 <br />Rod Visser, 919-245-2300 <br />PURPOSE: To confirm the terms of the appointment of the Interim County Manager. <br />BACKGROUND: At the Board of Commissioners meeting on July 27, 2006, the BOCC <br />appointed Assistant County Manager Rod Visser to serve as Interim County Manager upon the <br />retirement of current County Manager John Link on August 31, 2006, The terms of that <br />appointment are provided in the attached document prepared by the County Attorney, and are <br />included on this meeting agenda for formal confirmation by the Board. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding far the pay and benefits for the Interim County Manager is <br />already included in the BOCC-approved 2006-07 budget far the County Manager's Office, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board confirm the terms of the <br />appointment of the Interim County Manager as outlined in the attached document,. <br />
