Partnership and Network Development <br />• Work with local organizations, community stakeholders, and elected bodies on Orange <br />County food system initiatives <br />o Partner with the Orange County Board of Health to research successful policies <br />that provide incentives and help subsidize purchasing healthy, fresh foods. Focus <br />on policies that are not prescriptive but empowering. Help draft policies with the <br />BOH Strategic Plan Manager and the BOH Physical Activity and Nutrition <br />Sub - Committee if a policy proposal is considered a necessary next step. Employ <br />the Racial Equity Toolkit to assess disparate impact of any policy before adoption <br />- ongoing <br />o Develop a report for the Carrboro Board of Aldermen on best practices related to <br />urban agriculture and livestock (specific focus on raising and processing <br />chickens). Work in partnership with the Family Success Alliance to include <br />community input in this report - ongoing <br />• Collaborate with regional and statewide food councils <br />• Convene regional food councils (Durham Food and Farm Network, Capital Area <br />Food Network, and Chatham Community Food Council) - ongoing <br />• ✓ Participate in a statewide campaign by collecting signatures from <br />organizations and stakeholder groups in District 4 to support keeping SNAP and <br />other federal food assistance programs in the Farm Bill <br />V.
