Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations <br />5 <br />6 <br />a.Proclamation Recognizing Chapel Hill High School Women’s Cross Country Team <br />7 <br />Winning the 2017 State Championship <br />8 <br />The Board consideredvoting to approve a proclamation recognizing the Chapel Hill High <br />9 <br />School Women’s Cross Country Team for winning the 2017 StateChampionship and <br />10 <br />authorizingthe Chair to sign. <br />11 <br />Todd McGee, Community Relations Director, introducedthese proclamations. <br />12 <br />Coach Joan Nesbit Mabeintroduced her players. <br />13 <br />: <br />Commissioner Jacobs read the proclamation <br />14 <br />15 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />16 <br />PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br />17 <br />CHAPEL HILL HIGH SCHOOL WINNING 2017 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br />18 <br />IN WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY <br />19 <br />20 <br />WHEREAS <br />, on November 4, 2017, the Chapel Hill High School Women’s Cross Country Team <br />21 <br />won the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s 3A State <br />22 <br />Championship; and <br />23 <br />th <br />24 <br />WHEREAS <br />, under the guidance of Coach Joan Nesbit Mabe, the team won its 12state <br />25 <br />championship and its third consecutive title; and <br />26 <br />27 <br />WHEREAS <br />, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the team brought <br />28 <br />honor upon themselves, Chapel Hill High School, the Chapel Hill/Carrboro City <br />29 <br />Schools District and Orange County; <br />30 <br />31 <br />NOW, THEREFORE <br />, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />32 <br />expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for theChapel Hill High School <br />33 <br />Women’s Cross Country Team and Coach Joan Nesbit Mabe for their <br />34 <br />outstanding achievement, and their inspiration to youth across North Carolina <br />35 <br />through their dedication, teamwork, and athletic prowess. <br />36 <br />th <br />37 <br />This the 12day of December 2017. <br />38 <br />39 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs,seconded by Commissioner McKee for <br />40 <br />theBoard to approve and authorize the Chair to sign a proclamation recognizing the Chapel Hill <br />41 <br />High School Women’s Cross Country Team and Coach Joan Nesbit Mabe for winning the 2017 <br />42 <br />State Championship and the players and coaches for representing the community with the <br />43 <br />highest ideals of sportsmanship and integrity. <br />44 <br />45 <br />VOTE:UNANIMOUS <br />46 <br />47 <br />b.Proclamation Recognizing the Carrboro High School Women’s Volleyball Team <br />48 <br />Winning the 2017 State Championship <br /> <br />
