24 1 d.Applications for Property Tax Exemption/Exclusion 2 The Board consideredseven untimely applications for exemption/exclusion from ad valorem 3 taxation for seven bills for the 2017 tax year. 4 e.Alliance for Historic Hillsborough Lease –Dickson House, 150 King Street, 5 Hillsborough 6 The Board considereda three year Lease Agreement with the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough 7 for the Historic Dickson House, consisting of approximately 2,713 square feet of administrative, 8 museum, and visitor’s center space as well as the restroom and historic office outbuildings 9 located at 150 East King Street, Hillsborough; and authorize the Chair to execute the lease 10 upon final County Attorney review. 11 f.Request for Road Addition to the State Maintained Secondary Road System –Perry 12 Hills Subdivision 13 The Board made a recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation 14 (NCDOT) and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) concerning a petition to 15 add the remaining section of Paylor Street in Perry Hills Subdivision to the State Maintained 16 Secondary Road System. 17 g.Request for Road Additions to the State Maintained Secondary Road System – 18 Buckhorn Ridge Subdivision 19 The Board madea recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation 20 (NCDOT) and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) concerning a petition to 21 add Buckhorn Ridge Road and Twelve Point Trail in Buckhorn Ridge Subdivision to the State 22 Maintained Secondary Road System. 23 h.Request for Road Additions to the State Maintained Secondary Road System –The 24 Reserve Subdivision 25 The Board madea recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation 26 (NCDOT) and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) concerning a petition to 27 add Serrano Way, Madera Lane, Umbrio Lane, Majestic Court, and Chimeneas Place in The 28 Reserve Subdivision to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. 29 i.Board of Commissioners –Boards and Commissions Annual Selection Process 30 The Board votedto approve a selection process for the Board to utilize as part of Board 31 members’ annual selection of Boards and Commissions on which to serve going forward in 32 2018. 33 34 9. County Manager’s Report 35 Bonnie Hammersley said staff has been working with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City 36 Schools (CHCCS) on the bondprojects,andisnot anticipating anything at the BOCC thth 37 December12meeting. Shesaid the school board is meeting on December7. 38 Chair Dorosinasked if CHCCS pursued the possibility ofextending the construction bid 39 for the Lincoln Center project. 40 Bonnie Hammersley said this conversation did occur,and the construction firm said the 41 sub-contractorswould not allow them to do this,due to anticipated costincreases after the first 42 of the year. 43 Chair Dorosin said the BOCC isreceivinga lot of emails about this issue,and he would 44 like clarification on the bond funding. He asked if CHCCS choosesto go forward with the 45 Lincoln Center project, does the BOCC havetheauthority to say no. 46 John Roberts said this is a County bond, not a school bond. He said it is his 47 understanding that the BOCC decides whether or not to issue the bonds, and he will follow up 48 Bob Jessup for a more full and formal answer. 49 Commissioner Rich thanked all of the concerned parents who have sent emailsto the 50 BOCC, and she thanked Todd McGee, Community Relations Director,for his responses to
