24 <br />1 <br />d.Applications for Property Tax Exemption/Exclusion <br />2 <br />The Board consideredseven untimely applications for exemption/exclusion from ad valorem <br />3 <br />taxation for seven bills for the 2017 tax year. <br />4 <br />e.Alliance for Historic Hillsborough Lease –Dickson House, 150 King Street, <br />5 <br />Hillsborough <br />6 <br />The Board considereda three year Lease Agreement with the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough <br />7 <br />for the Historic Dickson House, consisting of approximately 2,713 square feet of administrative, <br />8 <br />museum, and visitor’s center space as well as the restroom and historic office outbuildings <br />9 <br />located at 150 East King Street, Hillsborough; and authorize the Chair to execute the lease <br />10 <br />upon final County Attorney review. <br />11 <br />f.Request for Road Addition to the State Maintained Secondary Road System –Perry <br />12 <br />Hills Subdivision <br />13 <br />The Board made a recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />14 <br />(NCDOT) and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) concerning a petition to <br />15 <br />add the remaining section of Paylor Street in Perry Hills Subdivision to the State Maintained <br />16 <br />Secondary Road System. <br />17 <br />g.Request for Road Additions to the State Maintained Secondary Road System – <br />18 <br />Buckhorn Ridge Subdivision <br />19 <br />The Board madea recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />20 <br />(NCDOT) and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) concerning a petition to <br />21 <br />add Buckhorn Ridge Road and Twelve Point Trail in Buckhorn Ridge Subdivision to the State <br />22 <br />Maintained Secondary Road System. <br />23 <br />h.Request for Road Additions to the State Maintained Secondary Road System –The <br />24 <br />Reserve Subdivision <br />25 <br />The Board madea recommendation to the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />26 <br />(NCDOT) and the North Carolina Board of Transportation (NC BOT) concerning a petition to <br />27 <br />add Serrano Way, Madera Lane, Umbrio Lane, Majestic Court, and Chimeneas Place in The <br />28 <br />Reserve Subdivision to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. <br />29 <br />i.Board of Commissioners –Boards and Commissions Annual Selection Process <br />30 <br />The Board votedto approve a selection process for the Board to utilize as part of Board <br />31 <br />members’ annual selection of Boards and Commissions on which to serve going forward in <br />32 <br />2018. <br />33 <br />34 <br />9. County Manager’s Report <br />35 <br />Bonnie Hammersley said staff has been working with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City <br />36 <br />Schools (CHCCS) on the bondprojects,andisnot anticipating anything at the BOCC <br />thth <br />37 <br />December12meeting. Shesaid the school board is meeting on December7. <br />38 <br />Chair Dorosinasked if CHCCS pursued the possibility ofextending the construction bid <br />39 <br />for the Lincoln Center project. <br />40 <br />Bonnie Hammersley said this conversation did occur,and the construction firm said the <br />41 <br />sub-contractorswould not allow them to do this,due to anticipated costincreases after the first <br />42 <br />of the year. <br />43 <br />Chair Dorosin said the BOCC isreceivinga lot of emails about this issue,and he would <br />44 <br />like clarification on the bond funding. He asked if CHCCS choosesto go forward with the <br />45 <br />Lincoln Center project, does the BOCC havetheauthority to say no. <br />46 <br />John Roberts said this is a County bond, not a school bond. He said it is his <br />47 <br />understanding that the BOCC decides whether or not to issue the bonds, and he will follow up <br />48 <br />Bob Jessup for a more full and formal answer. <br />49 <br />Commissioner Rich thanked all of the concerned parents who have sent emailsto the <br />50 <br />BOCC, and she thanked Todd McGee, Community Relations Director,for his responses to <br /> <br />
