The city of Mebane, lies partially in Orange County, but the <br />majority of the city lies in Alamance county. The city of Mebane is 8.898 square miles in area of <br />which 22.03 %, or 1.961 square miles, is in Orange County. At the same time, the municipality <br />of Chapel Hill has an area of 21.199 square miles of which 92.37% or 19.582 square miles lies in <br />Orange County.
