Page 2 of 2 <br />Commission for the Environment <br />Background, education and experience relevant to this board: <br />Jody Eimers <br />I served for 34 years as a Hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, and continue to <br />contribute to USGS Water Mission Area as Scientist Emeritus. I have a BS in Geology from <br />Michigan State Univeristy and an MS in Urban and Environmental Engineering from Duke <br />University. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />I volunteer with the USGS in international water resources, and I wish to use my expertise in <br />service to my local community. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />Supplemental Questions: <br />Orange Water & Sewer Authority Board of Directors <br />Please list /explain your experience, either professionally and /or from other <br />boards /commissions that you have in the areas of budget, personnel, and management. <br />My 34 years of employment with the U.S. Geological Survey included 3 years as a Supervisory <br />Hydrologist in New York, and 3 years as Staff Assistant for Special Issues and 4 years as Chief <br />of Staff in the USGS Water Mission Area. These positions involved advising and making <br />decisions about budget, personnel, and management. <br />In addition to the experience listed in the question above, please list the work /volunteer <br />experience /qualifications that would add to your expertise for this board. <br />At present I am Scientist Emeritus in the USGS Office of International Programs. In this role I <br />travel internationally to present how local, State and U.S. Federal governments contribute to <br />monitoring, analyzing, and managing water resources, and to learn how other nations approach <br />these governmental roles. <br />What do you see as the responsibilities of this board, and what do you hope to <br />accomplish if appointed? <br />It is my view that water resources are a public good. If I were to serve on the OWASA Board of <br />Directors, I would hope to improve upon OWASA s excellent tradition of public outreach and <br />engagement. <br />What is OWASA's role in growth /development issues? <br />It is my view that OWASA plays a leadership role in growth /development issues.
