Yes <br />If so, how often? Twice a month in the US, daily in Europe <br />Would you be willing to try public transit? Ofcourse! <br />Describe the importance of transit with regards to affordable housing and land use planning. : <br />Depends on the kind of PT, PT services are essential for affordable housing, but for instance the Light <br />Rail would have a positive impact on housing prices, Commercial Development, and car use! Essential <br />for Land use planning to include effective PT planning. (PT=Public Transit) <br />Describe the importance of transit with regards to individuals with handicaps or disabilitie: <br />Essential, but busses must be low floor vehicles. <br />Describe the importance of transit with regards to economic opportunity. : <br />There are different levels of Public Transport, just giving a rough system overview; local buses, <br />streetcars, rapid buses, interliners, light rail, trainsystems, etc. The higher the level of transit, the more <br />economic influence. Dominant examples are airports, but basically you can see economic developments <br />occur already at levels as rapid bussystems/interliners, and lightrail. <br />Have you had experiences with transit or other related issues in other places that could provide <br />beneficial information to this committee? <br />1. Former VP of the The Hague (Netherlands) public transport company HTM (bussystems, <br />streetcars, light rail, 3000 empl.) <br />2.
