Describe the importance of transit with regards to affordable housing and land use planning. : Depends on the kind of PT, PT services are essential for affordable housing, but for instance the Light Rail would have a positive impact on housing prices, Commercial Development, and car use! Essential for Land use planning to include effective PT planning. (PT=Public Transit) Describe the importance of transit with regards to individuals with handicaps or disabilitie: Essential, but busses must be low floor vehicles. Describe the importance of transit with regards to economic opportunity. : There are different levels of Public Transport, just giving a rough system overview; local buses, streetcars, rapid buses, interliners, light rail, trainsystems, etc. The higher the level of transit, the more economic influence. Dominant examples are airports, but basically you can see economic developments occur already at levels as rapid bussystems/interliners, and lightrail.
