Year-to-Date Budget Summary <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> <br />Paul Laughton, (919)245-2152 <br />Gary Donaldson (919) 245-2453 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2017- <br />18 <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Department on Aging <br />1. The Department on Aging anticipates receipt of an additional $1,350 from Triangle J <br />Council of Governments for the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP). <br />Funds will go toward recurring capital items, including a laptop and monitor. This budget <br />amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See Attachment 1, column <br />1) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br />associated with this item. <br /> <br />Health Department <br />2. The Health Department has received notification from the State of additional Healthy <br />Communities funds of $3,810 for FY 2017-18. These funds will be used for Racial/Health <br />Equity training for staff. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these <br />additional funds. (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents. <br /> <br />1
