Please complete the following information, <br />limited to the front and back of this form. Hillsborough 27278 <br />919-732-3432 ext 102 ocabc@mindspring.com <br /> <br /> <br />Primary County Staff Contact: Earl McKee and Donna Baker <br /> <br />How many times per month does this board/commission meet, including any special <br />meetings and sub-committee meetings? <br />The Board meets once per month on the 3rd Tuesday at 8:30am <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Provide a Brief Statement of the Boards Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br /> <br />The Orange County ABC Board is a political subdivision of the state and operated as <br />an independent government agency inside Orange County. <br />The Mission of the Orange County ABC Board and our employees is to serve our <br />locality responsibly by controlling the sale of spirituous liquor, returning profits to Law <br />Enforcement, Alcohol Education, and the County Fund while providing excellent <br />service in customer friendly, modern and efficient stores. <br /> <br /> <br />What are your Board/Commission’s most important accomplishments? <br /> <br />A distribution of $500,000 is being made to the Orange County General fund for 2017- <br />2018 and this is a 25% increase over the previous year. The board also set aside <br />$48,333 to contribute to the Board Retiree Health Care Plan. We will distribute $149,300 <br />to Alcohol Law Enforcement agencies. The board also committed $212,500 to Alcohol <br />Rehabilitation and Education grants for schools and local community organizations. <br />All of these distributions are well over and above General Statute requirements. The <br />board remains committed to being a living wage employer and have been absorbing an <br />ongoing increased payroll cost of $100k per year. <br /> <br /> <br />3
