The Board asks its <br />residentsto conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner, both with the Board and with fellow <br />residents. At any time should any member of the Board or any residentfail to observe this public charge, <br />the Chair will ask the offending person to leave the meeting until that individual regains personal control. <br />Should decorum fail to be restored, the Chair will recess the meeting until such time that a genuine <br />commitment to this public charge is observed. All electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, and <br />computers should please be turned off or set to silent/vibrate. <br />Arts Moment–2018 Piedmont Laureate Nancy Peacock <br />2018 Piedmont Laureate Nancy Peacock has been writing since fourth grade. She is largely self-taught <br />and well-mentored. Ms. Peacockis the author of the novels Life Without Water (chosen as a New York <br />Times Notable Book), Home Across the Road, and The Life and Times of Persimmon Wilson, as well <br />as the memoir and “writing-in-the-real-world” guide A Broom of One’s Own: Words on Writing, <br />Housecleaning and Life. Ms. Peacockruns writing workshops and retreats for women. Her free Prompt <br />Writing Class has been active since 2003, and continues to gain in popularity. Ms. Peacockbelieves that <br />telling stories, our own and those we invent, is a human right that we must all claim to heal our hurt <br />world.
