At its December 4, 2017 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br /> separating the Division of Human Rights and Relations within the Department of Housing, <br /> Human Rights, and Community Development and creating a new Department of Human <br /> Rights and Relations. The Department will be staffed by a director, a civil rights <br /> specialist, and intake specialist and a Limited English Proficiency Specialist/Outreach <br /> Coordinator. The director will have a dual role (50/50) as both the Department Director <br /> and a Staff Attorney. Budgeted funds and 1.387 FTEs applicable to Housing and <br /> Community Development programs are moving from the current Housing, Human Rights, <br /> and Community Development Department within the General Fund to the Housing Fund <br /> (1.194 FTEs) and Community Development programs, consisting of the Urgent Repair <br /> Program (.0965 FTE) and the 2017 HOME Program (.0965 FTEs). This budget <br /> amendment provides for the moving of the appropriate funds and FTEs, and provides for <br /> an appropriation of $46,925 from the General Fund's Unassigned Fund Balance to cover <br /> this Department reorganization.
