He said financing costs are not included in the capital costs. <br /> 8 Commissioner McKee said citizens are not being presented with an honest portrayal of <br /> 9 the total costs of the project. <br /> 10 Commissioner Jacobs asked if GoTriangle could provide the BOCC with a report about <br /> 11 how GoTriangle has engaged Durham Tech and the Orange County campus on providing jobs. <br /> 12 Matthew Clark said he is spearheading a workforce development partnership with <br /> 13 Durham Tech and several other partners. <br /> 14 Commissioner Jacobs asked if something could be brought in writing to the BOCC on <br /> 15 December 12th <br /> 16 Matthew Clark said yes. <br /> 17 Commissioner Marcoplos asked if transit oriented development will begin before the rail <br /> 18 line opens. <br /> 19 Patrick McDonough said yes, if GoTriangle is doing its job correctly. <br /> 20 Commissioner Marcoplos asked if it is known when transit oriented development will <br /> 21 begin. <br /> 22 Patrick McDonough said interest will spike when the Federal Government signs the full <br /> 23 funding grant agreement, but those communities that have prepared the development <br /> 24 ordinance for the areas of desired growth, and have well defined economic and community <br /> 25 goals will be engaged in discussion. <br /> 26 Ben Hitchings said when considering station area planning, it is the goal to pick <br /> 27 locations that are already natural centers, or have this potential. He said Gateway fits this bill, <br /> 28 and a new zoning framework may lead to development simply due to the existing advantages of <br /> 29 the location. He said the rail investment would only increase the appeal of this location. <br /> 30 Chair Dorosin said he heard that the developers of DPAC and American Tobacco are <br /> 31 putting money in, and asked if this is accurate.
