He said most goals and objectives are not written this way <br /> 31 by other jurisdictions. He said there is a strong preference on the Board to challenge the <br /> 32 limitation on bike and pedestrian projects. He said the OUTBoard mentions the train station on <br /> 33 the second page, and it is fully funded. He said Jeff Mann, GoTriangle General Manager, <br /> 34 reports a tug of war between Norfolk Southern and the North Carolina Railroad, as to who is <br /> 35 going to do the planning related to the train station. He said that is the reason for the delay in <br /> 36 the train station. <br /> 37 Commissioner Jacobs said the Board has not discussed the route in Carrboro, and he <br /> 38 would like more information on this prior to a vote. He said he would like to see a new bike plan <br /> 39 for Orange County. He said he agreed with #3. <br /> 40 Patrick McDonough, GoTriangle Manager of Planning and Transit Oriented <br /> 41 Development, said there is a way to have a positive impact on the discussion surrounding the <br /> 42 train station. He said Nina Schlossburg, DCHC MPO, was recently appointed to the North <br /> 43 Carolina Railroad Board of Directors, along with Bill Bell. He said this provides representation <br /> 44 at a level where there has previously been none. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> 47 endorse #3, and refer #1 and #2 to staff and the OUTBoard (attachment 3) <br /> 48 <br /> 49 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 50 <br />
