22 <br /> 1 On October 3, 2017 the BOCC endorsed the Orange Unified Transportation Board (OUTBoard) <br /> 2 comments on the Alternatives Analysis and submitted to the DCHC MPO Board. The MPO <br /> 3 included these comments along with others and drafted the Preferred Option. The MPO <br /> 4 Technical Committee released the 2045 MTP Preferred Option for a 42-day public comment <br /> 5 period on October 25, 2017. The MPO Board also conducted a public hearing on the preferred <br /> 6 option on November 8, 2017. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 The preferred option is a 35 page document (Attachment 4). Orange County Transportation <br /> 9 Planning Staff has reviewed the Preferred Option and has provided Attachment 2 as a <br /> 10 summary of key Orange County information. 1 The OUTBoard provided the following <br /> 11 comments (Attachment 3) at its November 15 meeting: 1. The LRT extension from Chapel Hill <br /> 12 to Carrboro would better be served if it went along Main Street and into downtown rather than <br /> 13 Cameron Avenue. 2. We would like to see a bike and pedestrian path between Hillsborough <br /> 14 and Carrboro. 3. Hillsborough station is great and should be used often. Amtrak may provide <br /> 15 only two stops a day so it will need to be planned for more frequent use.
