2 <br /> September and November 2017 meetings. All farm applications were reviewed and verified to <br /> have met or exceeded the minimum criteria for certification into the program. The Agricultural <br /> Preservation Board voted unanimously to recommend approval of the certification for the seven <br /> (7) farms, and their inclusion in the Voluntary (588 acres) and the Enhanced Voluntary <br /> Agricultural District (31 acres) program. The certification documentation is on file in the <br /> DEAPR/Soil and Water Conservation District office. The farms are described briefly below: <br /> Brief Farm Descriptions: <br /> 1) Owners of Crabtree Farms Inc., Yvonne Crabtree and son, Gary Crabtree, have submitted <br /> an application to enroll two (2) parcels of land totaling 156.51 acres as qualifying farmland <br /> for the Voluntary Agricultural District program (VAD) in the Cedar Grove Agricultural District. <br /> The farm operation includes grain crops, pasture/hayland, livestock, and managed <br /> woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement <br /> standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 2) Owners of Hall Farm, Inc., Howard Hall, and family, Michael and Shelia Hall, have submitted <br /> an application to enroll three (3) parcels of land totaling 156.35 acres as qualifying farmland <br /> for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The <br /> farm operation includes tobacco, soybeans, grain crops, hayland and managed woodland. <br /> The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement standards <br /> and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 3) Owners of Maple Spring Gardens, Kenneth Dawson and Elizabeth Outlaw, have submitted <br /> an application to enroll two (2) parcels of land totaling of 80.04 acres as qualifying farmland <br /> for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program located in the Cedar Grove Agricultural <br /> District. The farm includes vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers. The farm has been <br /> evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or <br /> exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 4) Owners Geoffrey and Jane Gledhill have submitted an application to enroll one (1) parcel of <br /> land totaling 29.61 acres as qualifying farmland for the Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural <br /> District (EVAD) program in the Cedar Grove Agricultural District. The farm operation includes <br /> managed forestry/woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of the EVAD <br /> certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 5) Owners Andy and Debra Gates have submitted an application to enroll two (2) parcels of <br /> land totaling of 111.01 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> (VAD) program located in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The farm includes soybeans, <br /> grain crops, pasture/hayland, beef cattle, and managed woodland. The farm has been <br /> evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or <br /> exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 6) Owners of Cane Creek Farms, Robert Kirk Jr., and son, Michael Kirk, have submitted an <br /> application to enroll two (2) parcel of land totaling 84.09 acres as qualifying farmland for the <br /> Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program in the Cane Creek/Buckhorn Agricultural <br /> District. The farm operation includes livestock, pasture/hayland, vegetables, and managed <br /> woodland. The farm property has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification <br /> requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br />
