This 18 unit, single family detached complex is
located aff Tones Ferry Road past the current intersection of Old School Road. This request is in
compliance with the Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance (SAPFO), enacted in July of
2003.
The requested subdivision will have 18 units, all single family houses. The request qualifies for
a CAPS using the existing capacity and student generation rates as approved by the Orange
County Commissioners. The spreadsheet used in that determination is attached. Occupancy is
expected to take place during 2007.
As this request has been made during the 2005-2006 school year, and as the current school
capacity has been approved by the County Commissioners during the 2004-2005 school year,
Support Services recommends that the Board of Education award CAPS Number CH 0010 to
The Orchard.
As occupancy is expected in the 2007-2008 school yeaz, additional high school capacity will be
available at high school #3.
Resolution: Be it, therefore, resolved that the Board of Education awards a Certificate of
Adequate Public Schools to The Orchard, for 18 housing units, as described
above. Be it, further resolved, that the Board of Education directs the
administration to sign and authorize all appropriate documents related to the
above-mentioned request.
Lincoln Center, 750 5 lAerritt ivtill Road • Ghaa°°-I Nili, NC 27515-2678• (919) 967-8211 •'m~.vv+.chccs.kl2.ncus
