2.3 <br />Orange Soil and Water Conservation <br />P.O, Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />919-245-2750 <br />March 1, 2006 <br />To: Glenn Bowles <br />Orange County Planning Dept. ,^, <br />From: Gail Hughes ~~ k~J~ <br />Orange Soil and Water Cons ation District <br />RE: The Orchard <br />According to the Orange County Soil Survery, the following soils are located on this site: <br />EnC Enon loam: 6-12% slope (C) <br />GeB-Georgeville silt loam: 2-6% slope (B) <br />GeC-Georgeville silt loam: 6-10% slope (C) <br />HeB-Helena sandy loam: 2-8% slope (B) <br />HrB-Herndon silt loam: 2-6 % slope (B) <br />HrC-Herndon silt loam: 6-10% slope (C) <br />TaD- Tatum silt loam: 8-15% slope (D) <br />These soils have different capabilities for septic tank use, building sites, recreationai uses, <br />streets, and landscaping, and shallow excavations. <br />Attached are the capability classes for each soil. This soil information is to be used as a <br />general reference. <br />An on-site investigation by the Environmental Health Dept. should determine <br />possibilities and exact locations of septic tanks. <br />
