This budget amendment provides for additional funding of $25,000 to the Orange <br />County Food Council to serve as bridge funding to the Food Council through the end <br />of the 2017-18 fiscal year. The FY 2017-18 Approved Budget included funding of <br />$20,376 to the Food Council, so this additional funding provides a total of $45,376 for <br />FY 2017-18. This additional funding of $25,000 would come from available Social <br />Justice reserve funds. With this additional allocation, $225,000 remains available in <br />Social Justice reserve funds for FY 2017-18. (See Attachment 1, column 5) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this agenda item: <br />• GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and reservation of infrastructure, polices, programs and funding <br />necessary for resident to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds and increases the FY <br />2017-18 budget in the General Fund by $21,612, increases the Adoption Enhancement Fund by <br />$19,219, and increases the Visitors Bureau Fund budget by $200,000. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve budget and school <br />capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2017-18. <br /> <br />4
