1 <br /> <br /> Attachment 1 1 <br /> 2 <br />DRAFT MINUTES 3 <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 4 <br />REGULAR MEETING 5 <br />November 2, 2017 6 <br />7:00 p.m. 7 <br /> 8 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Thursday, November 2, 9 <br />2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Building, in Hillsborough, N.C. 10 <br /> 11 <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Dorosin and Commissioners Mia Burroughs, 12 <br />Barry Jacobs, Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, Renee Price and Penny Rich 13 <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: 14 <br />COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts 15 <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager 16 <br />Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified 17 <br />appropriately below) 18 <br /> 19 <br /> Chair Dorosin called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. 20 <br /> 21 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Burroughs, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to 22 <br />go into closed session at 7:01 p.m. for the purpose of: 23 <br /> 24 <br />“Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11.(a)(9), “To discuss and take action 25 <br />regarding plans to protect public safety as it relates to existing or potential terrorist activity and 26 <br />to receive briefings by staff members, legal counsel, or law enforcement or emergency service 27 <br />officials concerning actions taken or to be taken to respond to such activity.” 28 <br /> 29 <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS 30 <br /> 31 <br />RECONVENE INTO REGULAR SESSION 32 <br /> 33 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Marcoplos to 34 <br />reconvene into regular session at 7:18 p.m. 35 <br /> 36 <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS 37 <br /> 38 <br />1.
