<br /> <br />The adopted Lease and Joint Use Agreement only includes termination provisions “for violation <br />of the terms and conditions.” As such, County and OCS attorneys have proposed that the two <br />boards take independent but coordinated action to terminate the lease, and this mutual action <br />by the parties will end the agreement. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with the termination of the lease. <br />The revenue from court rentals is offset by the County’s maintenance and lighting costs and the <br />costs of locking and unlocking the court gates. In fact, the change may prove to be a financial <br />benefit to the County. <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated <br />with this item. Public usage of the courts will continue, but under the management of the <br />Orange County Schools. County courts at Fairview Park are also available for use by the public, <br />and this park serves an economically-disadvantaged community. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the termination of <br />the Lease and Joint Use Agreement with Orange County Board of Education effective January <br />31, 2018. <br />2
