PhF - ab1l <br /> 10 <br /> Ordinance#:ORD-2017-026 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORANGE COUNTY <br /> UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County has initiated amendments to the Orange County Unified <br /> Development Ordinance (UDO) to existing flood damage prevention regulations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed amendment adopts by reference a new Flood Insurance Study <br /> (FIS) and new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) as produced by the State of North Carolina and <br /> the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); eliminates the Special Flood Hazard Area <br /> (SFHA) Overlay District; relocates existing flood damage prevention regulations to a new section of <br /> the UDO; and updates/revise existing regulations to ensure consistency with FEMA and State <br /> standards; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposal has been found to be consistent with the 2030 Orange County <br /> Comprehensive Plan, and <br /> WHEREAS, the requirements of Section 2.8 of the UDO have been deemed complete; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board has found the proposed amendments to be reasonably necessary <br /> to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County amends that the <br /> UDO is hereby amended as depicted in the attached pages. <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT this ordinance be placed in the book of published <br /> ordinances and that this ordinance is effective upon its adoption. <br /> Upon motion ACommissioner , seconded by <br /> Commissioner pct , the foregoing ordinance was adopted this <br /> 14 day of , 2017. <br /> I, Donna S.
