CAREY <br />% AM WRITING CONCERNING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT : <br />CP-1-92 UNIVERSITY STATION, AND WILL TELL YOU WHY I OBJECT TO <br />THIS PROPOSED AMENDMENT. <br />I PURCHASED MY LOT ON POWDER MILL ROAD AND SUBSEQUENTLY BUILT MY <br />HOME IN 1988 FOR ONE MAJOR REASON. THE RURAL SETTING. I MOVED <br />FROM CARY TO GET AWAY FROM THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT; TRAFFIC, NOISE, <br />CONGESTION, AND HIGH DENSITY NEIGHBORHOODS. <br />BEFORE BUYING MY LOT ON POWDER MILL ROAD, I LOOKED AT THE EXIST- <br />ING ZONING AND SAW THAT THE AREA WAS COMPRISED OF AGRICULTURAL <br />LAND AND RESIDENTIAL ZONING THAT PERMITS ONLY ONE HOME PER ACRE, <br />AND SINCE ALL LAND ISN'T SUITABLE FOR SEPTIC SYSTEMS, THE DENSITY <br />WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY BE LESS THAT ONE HOME PER ACRE. I BELIEVE <br />THAT MANY OF MY NEIGHBORS MOVED TO THIS AREA FOR SIMILAR REASONS. <br />--THE' PROPOSED- CHANGE INCREASES <br />ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY TREME <br />LARGE PORTION OF THE PROPERTY <br />BRINGING IN WATER AND SEWER, <br />VELOPED, COULD BE DEVELOPED. <br />THE DENSITY OF HOUSING THAT IS <br />WDOUSLY, SINCE AS IT IS TODAY, A <br />CAN NOT BE DEVELOPED. ALSO, BY <br />-AND THAT PRESENTLY CAN'T BE DE- <br />I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE RURAL CHARACTER OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD <br />REMAIN AS IT 18. <br />THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. <br />SINCERELY, <br />ALAN D.
