• • <br />COMBS REZONING REQUEST <br />Page Six <br />January 23, 1992 Hinkley checks Planning, ASCS and Soil and <br />Water Conservation aerial photography to <br />determine the accuracy of Combs's claim that <br />the property has been used continuously for <br />storage of junked motor vehicles since May <br />1979 when it was purchased by J.B. and Doris <br />Martin from the Atwaters. No evidence is <br />found of. vehicle storage as late as 1982. <br />March -April 1987 photographs show some 55 -60 <br />vehicles stored on the premises (6.37B..6A) <br />already owned by the Combs since February 9, <br />1984, and 40 -45 vehicles are stored on the <br />parcel to the north (TM 6.37B..6) owned by <br />James J. and Betty R. Copeland. Combs <br />purchased parcel 6 from the Copelands on <br />January 22, 1991. <br />February 1 Notice of Public Hearing before the Board of <br />Adjustment of Orange County is published. <br />February 3 With Combs's permission, Hinkley takes <br />photographs of the site for use at the Board <br />of Adjustment Public Hearing. Some 150 <br />vehicles remain 'on the premises. Three <br />workers are seen in and around the garage. <br />Six cars and a pile of tires remain on the <br />newly cleared lot. Oats have been planted. <br />February 5 The Board of Adjustment is informed of its <br />upcoming meeting of February 10, 1992, at <br />which time the Combs Case would be heard. <br />Notice of Public Hearing before the Board of <br />Adjustment of Orange County is published for <br />the second time. <br />c. February 8 Hinkley hears from the N.C. Highway Patrol <br />that neither Wayne Combs Automotive, Inc. nor <br />Westside Towing are on the "approved list of <br />wrecker service." <br />
