Attachment 2 4 <br />C6360 -8/92 <br />SOCIAL WORK COORDINATOR <br />GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: <br />Performs difficult professional work developing and coordinating service <br />programs; does related work as required. <br />Work is performed under general supervision. Supervision is exercised <br />over subordinate professional staff. <br />TYPICAL TASKS: <br />Manages, administers and supervises the Day Care Services Program, Baby <br />Love Program or Child Service Coordination Program; <br />Monitors and evaluates work of subordinate staff; <br />Directs maintenance of records and prepares reports on unit activities; <br />Supervises and.trains staff to provide counseling, supportive casework <br />services, information and referral and coordination between clients and <br />services; <br />Provides direct case management services; <br />Provides supportive level counseling to.olients; <br />Plans and coordinates technical assistance and training for staff; <br />Advocates and educates and provides consultation within the agency and <br />the community for expanded day care subsidy and services; <br />Counsels and directs staff who do CPS /Day Care investigations; <br />Performs related tasks as required. <br />KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of <br />social work; thorough knowledge of the techniques and means of <br />interviewing, assessment and counseling; thorough knowledge of <br />governmental and private community organizations and human service <br />agencies; thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies <br />governing service programs; ability to counsel and conduct interviews of <br />a personal, sensitive nature; ability to understand client problems and <br />needs; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships <br />with clients, County agencies and officials, associates and general <br />public; ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely and effectively, <br />orally and in writing; ability to plan, assign, instruct and supervise <br />the work of others. <br />EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <br />Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation <br />from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in <br />social work and at least one year experience in social work or <br />counseling or a bachelor's degree in social work and at least two years <br />experience in social work or counseling. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: <br />Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of <br />North Carolina. <br />
