20
ORANGE COUNTY ARCHITECTURAL. SURVEY
PROPOSED PEZZONI AND LEFEVER WORKING RELATIONSHIP
As the more experienced member of the team, Daniel Pezzoni would supervise the survey and
would handle tasks such as the preparation of reports and presentations. Rhonda Lefever, who
will maintain a residence in the Orange County area, will perform the day - to-day work of the
survey, including the investigation of sites and preparation of site files. More specifically, the
responsibilities of Pezzoni and Lefever would be as follows:
Phase 1: Pezzoni and Lefever would undertake a windshield survey of the project area together
during this planning phase of the survey. From the windshield survey Pezzoni and Lefever
would prepare a final Time /Product/Payment Schedule, and Pezzoni would prepare a Preliminary
Survey Report.
Phase 2: During the first and second month -long subphases of the comprehensive survey,
Pezzoni and Lefever would survey approximately 120 sites together. This joint survey will
familiarize both Pezzoni and Lefever with the- range of historic resources in the project area, and
would allow Pezzoni and Lefever to develop a survey methodology that is in accord with the
expectations of the DAH. For subphases 3 through 10 (the remaining 480 sites), Lefever would
survey with personnel selected by the county, and Pezzoni would monitor the survey during
monthly one- or two -day sessions that will include visits to the more significant or problematic
sites identified during the subphase. During these sessions, Pezzoni would review the files
produced by Lefever prior to DAH review. During the final subphase of the comprehensive
survey, Lefever would finalize the survey files, map sites, label slides, prepare site indexes, and
prepare study list documentation, and Pezzoni would prepare the Multiple Property
Documentation Form and make final presentations to the locality and to the NC State Review
Committee.
