Lloyd Street Force Main Replacement - Replacement of 1,100 feet <br />of 6 -inch cast iron force main with 7 -inch PVC pipe will <br />improve system reliability near the Lloyd Street Pump Station <br />in Carrboro. <br />H--6. Rogerson Drive Pump ,Station Improvement - Replacement and <br />upgrade of pumps and accessories, reconfiguration of wet well <br />and inverts needed to improve pump station performance and to <br />reduce overflows along Glen Lennox and Little Creek sewer <br />lines. Further details to be developed in conjunction with <br />Rogerson Drive Force Main replacement (H -4) and Little <br />Creek /Glen Lennox Creek Sewer Line improvements (G -20). <br />I. Wastewater Treatment and Disposal <br />I -1. Agricultural Nutrients Rec clip Sites - Installment payments, <br />plus additional funds, for property used for the land <br />application of wastewater biosolids (sludge). OWASA seeks land <br />in sufficient acreage to protect its long term options for. <br />environmentally acceptable and economically feasible methods of <br />sludge recycling, reuse or disposal. <br />I -3. Mason Farm Wastewater Plant Expansion - Design and construction <br />of expanded and upgraded facilities will increase the present <br />treatment capacity from 8 mgd to 12 mgd. Thirty -day average <br />flows, on which regulatory compliance is based, typically reach <br />6.8 mgd during periods of high use; i.e, the Mason Farm Plant <br />is currently operating at 85 percent of its treatment capacity. <br />Increasingly stringent phosphorus and nitrogen removal <br />standards will require the installation of effluent filters at <br />the wastewater plant. Construction programmed to begin during <br />FY 94. <br />J. CENTRAL OFFICE AND OPERATIONS <br />J -2. Operations Center, Phase 2 - Construction of library and <br />documents storage space in ground floor of the Operations <br />Center will provide additional upstairs office space for <br />technical and administrative staff. <br />11 <br />
