T3
F -14. U.S. 15 -501 Bypass - Installation of new 12 -inch water mains
in conjunction with the NCDOT Bypass project will improve
service reliability by replacing older asbestos - concrete
pipes, and will provide for the orderly installation of future
water mains.
F -15. Water Line Rehabilitation and Replacement Projects - OWASA
crews routinely replace or repair existing water lines that
have exceeded their useful service life. These projects
typically include upgrading undersized or leaking lines, help
reduce repair incidents, and improve overall service
reliability.
F -17. U.S. 54 Bypass - Installation of new 12 -inch water mains in
conjunction with the NCDOT 54- -Bypass project will improve
service reliability, and provide for the orderly installation
of future water mains.
F -18. Smith Level Road Bridge Improvement - (This project is a
complementary component of F -17, described above.)
F -19. Weaver Dairy Road from Sed efield Drive to Chesley Subdivision
- Installation of a pressure station near Weaver Dairy and
Sunrise Roads will eliminate dead ends in the distribution
system, and provide an interconnection between the 640- and
740- -foot pressure zones.
F--20. U.S. 15 -501 Service Road Near Golden Corral - Installation of
a short segment of 8 -inch ductile iron line will complete a
service loop in this area.
F -21. Airport Road from Westminster to Weaver Dairy Road -
Construction of a short section of 12 -inch ductile iron pipe
will reinforce the distribution system by providing a service
loop between existing lines in the 740 -foot pressure district.
Work to be coordinated with NCDOT widening of Airport Road.
F -25. Other Reinforcement Projects Per Pitometer -- (This project
item provides funding for unspecified transmission and
distribution projects to be identified in the engineering
analysis now underway by Pitometer Associates, Inc.)
G. WASTEWATER COLLECTION LINES
G -1. Bolin Creek Interce for -- Construction of approximately 6,000
feet of ductile iron interceptor, 24 to 42 inches in diameter,
between Airport Road and East Franklin Street, parallel to the
existing 15- to 18 -inch interceptor. Project will help reduce
nuisance overflows caused by excessive stormwater in the
collection system. The Bolin Creek Interceptor currently
carries approximately 35 percent of all sewage generated in
the OWASA system. The new interceptor will be sized to
accommodate flows generated by ultimate buildout in the Bolin
'
