Zoning Ordinance Requirements. <br />Section 6.16.15 of the Orange County Zoning <br />Ordinance has restrictions applying to solid waste <br />collection facilities owned or operated by a public <br />agency for the disposal of household waste by <br />Orange County residents. (See Appendix). <br />11. County Engineer to- adjust site plan layout as <br />necessary. <br />V. Public Information <br />Public information efforts will run concurrently with the <br />targeting of areas for solid waste collection centers. <br />Solicitation of suggestions for land acquisition and <br />selection criteria will be included at these meetings. <br />A. After negotiation with property owner, send notices to <br />all residents within 1/2 mile radius of site, informing <br />them of proposed site location. Included in,the notice <br />will be the following information: <br />* Current legislation mandating changes in solid waste <br />management (copies of pertinent <br />legislation will be available). <br />* Consolidation of current greeribox system into <br />staffed solid waste collection centers. <br />-Description of pilot solid waste collection <br />center <br />- --Location map of proposed site <br />A notification sign will also be posted at the site at <br />this time. <br />B. Submit press releases about proposed site and announce <br />site location. Include a description of pilot solid <br />waste collection center and a location map of proposed <br />site. <br />C. Develop fact sheet of technical information policies, <br />state mandates and other public interest data on solid <br />waste collection centers. Make report available to <br />county staff who may be questioned about solid waste <br />issues. <br />D. If necessary, conduct special public hearings on solid <br />waste collection centers.
