0
(31)
EXHIBIT R -2A
GROUNDWATER IMPACT RATING
The potential for groundwater contamination can be evaluated
based on the type of soil beneath the site and the depth
to groundwater. The lower the permeability of the
soils or the bedrock, the lower the possibility of contamination
and, therefore, the lower the impact rating. Also, the greater the
depth to groundwater, the lower the potential to impact the
groundwater.
SOIL SAND, LOAMY
CHARACTERISTICS SAND, SANDY
LOAM
ROCK HIGHLY FRACTURED
CHARACTERISTICS ROCK, FAULT ZONES
DEPTH TO
GROUNDWATER (FEET)
SILT, SILT CLAY, SANDY
LOAM, CLAY CLAY, SILTY
LOAM, LOAM CLAY
SLIGHTLY UNFRACTURED
TO MODERATELY AND OTHER
FRACTURED ROCK IMPERVIOUS
ROCK
IMPACT RATING, B
>30 2 1
20 -30 3 2 1
10 -20 4 3 2
<10 5 4 3
5 -22 -91
