CAMERON STREET Mebane - 228_7331 <br />HILLSBOROUGH, NC Durham <br />PURPOSE: To consider closing designated offices to the public <br />on August 3 and 4, 1992 in order to facilitate an orderly re location <br />of offices. <br />BACKGROUND: The new Government Services Center will be completed in <br />mid -July, 1992. Offices which will be relocated at this time include <br />the County Commissioners, County Manager, Land Records, Tax Assessor, <br />Revenue and Register of Deeds. <br />Pursuant to GS 161.8, the Register of Deeds office hours are set by the <br />Board of County Commissioners. An order is therefore - required to close <br />the office on August 3 -4, 1992. <br />In addition, GS 161.7 states that the Register of Deeds "shall keep his <br />office at the courthouse unless the board of county commissioners shall <br />deem it impracticable ". Therefore, it is further required that the <br />Board approve an order to change the location of the Register of Deeds <br />office to 200 S. Cameron Street, Hillsborough, NC. An order to <br />change the location as well as to fix the hours of operation on <br />August 3 -4, 1992 is attached. <br />
