The event will be held <br />at Kenan Stadium on the evening of July 4, 1992. <br />GS 14 -414, indicates that the Board shall consider a fireworks <br />permit for "any and all kinds of fireworks and explosives, which are <br />used for exhibitions or amusement purposes." <br />GS 14 -413 empowers the Commissioners to authorize and issue permits for <br />the use of pyrotechnics in connection with "...shows of all <br />descriptions ... but only after satisfactory evidence is produced to the <br />effect that said pyrotechnics will be used for the aforementioned <br />purposes and none other ". <br />County policy further requires assurance from the sponsoring agency <br />that adequate public safety measures will be exercised; and that the <br />County will be protected as an additional insured on the insurance <br />policy /policies covering the event. <br />Documents attached provide evidence that these criteria have been met. <br />
