2`I <br />Attachment 1 <br />DRAFT <br />REVISION TO ARTICLE V, SECTION 7.0 <br />OF THE ORANGE COUNTY PERSONNEL ORDINANCE <br />7.0 MERIT INCREASE (Effective July 1, 1992) <br />7.1 General <br />The County provides merit pay to eligible permanent <br />employees in recognition of competent performance, <br />highly effective performance and outstanding <br />achievement in accordance with the Work Planning and <br />Performance Review Program. (See Article VIZ, <br />"Employee Performance Evaluation Program. ") <br />7.2 Eligibility <br />7.2.1 To be eligible for a merit increase, the <br />employee must: <br />-- Be Permanent Full time or Part Time (regularly <br />scheduled at least 20 hours each work week). <br />- Have received a WPPR performance rating of <br />Competent, Highly Effective or Outstanding on <br />his or her WPPR Review Date. <br />7.2.2 An otherwise eligible employee at the salary <br />range maximum (Step 11B) may receive a merit <br />increase as a lump sum, one -time payment which <br />does not become a part of annual salary. If an <br />employee below Step 11B receives a merit <br />increase which would cause the salary to exceed <br />Step 11B, the employee receives the amount of <br />the increase which exceeds Step 11B as a lump <br />sum, one -time payment which does not become a <br />part of annual salary. <br />7.3 Merit Increase Amount <br />Effective for employees with WPPR Review Dates of <br />July 1, 1992 or after, the Merit Increase amount <br />provided for a Permanent employee is as follows: <br />Performance Rating Merit Increase <br />Unsatisfactory None <br />Below Competent None <br />
