<br />PYROTECHNICS PERMIT <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE NORTH CAROLINA <br />ORIGINAL SIGNATURES; COPY 1 <br />Pursuant to G.S. 14.413, Commissioners in North Carolina Counties are empowered to authorize and issue permits for the <br />use of pyrotechnics in connection with ".,.shows of all descriptions,...but only after satisfactory evidence is produced to the <br />effect that said pyrotechnics will be used for the aforementioned purposes and none other", <br />On June 27, 2006 Orange County Speedway, Roughmont, NC, was approved for a pyrotechnic permit to be used in <br />association with races on July 1, 2006 (rain date July 8, 2006) at the Orange County Speedway, <br />The approval is granted based on the following assurances from the requestor: <br />Public Safety personnel will be on site during the event to ensure public safety and to provide adequate traffic <br />control; <br />Proof of Liability insurance which includes the County as a named insured, has been submitted to the Orange <br />County Director of Purchasing and Central Services. Limits of liability are no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, <br />Show setup will be approved by the Orange County Fire Marshal or his designee, prior to the beginning of <br />show, Permitted explosives include those identified in the information submitted by requestor and approved by <br />the Fire Marshal as part of the pyrotechnics approval process, <br />Note: FIRE OFFICIAL SHALL NOT EXECUTE THIS PERMIT IN THE EVENT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AT TIME OF <br />PERFORMANCE PRESENT A HAZARD FOR EITHER BURNING OR AIR QUALITY (CODE RED), <br />Orange County Speedway has a current fire inspection and is in compliance with the North Carolina Fire <br />Prevention Code, 2000 lntemational Fire Code with North Carolina amendments. <br />Approved by: (All signatures must be affixed for permit to be valid.) <br />John Link, Jr„ <br />Orange County Manager <br />Pamela Jones, Director, Orange County <br />Purchasing and Central Services <br />Mike Tapp, Orange County Fire Marshall <br />Jack Bail, Director, Arange County <br />Emergency Management Services <br />HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS: EACH PARTY SIGNS TWO COPIES OF PERMIT <br />1, Director of Purchasing signs aRer certification that checklist criteria has been met. <br />2. Orange County Manager signs, <br />3, Fire Official signs, upon approval of the site set up prior to the event. <br />4. Emergency Management Director signs after assurance from Fire Official that requirements of the Standard Fire Preveniion Code <br />as it respects the use of pyrotechnics has been met, <br />5. Emergency Management Director provides one copy of permit to show sponsor and returns one copy to the Director of <br />Purchasing for records maintenance, <br />
