Senior Center operations: The operation of senior centers in Carrboro, <br />Chapel Hill and Hillsborough helps to prevent loneliness and premature <br />institutionalization by promoting personal independence and wellness. <br />Amount: $ 56,321.00 <br />Transportation: Transportation services assist older adults gain <br />access to senior center facilities in Carrboro, Cedar Grove, Chapel <br />Hill, Efland, and Hillsborough for noontime meals and activities. <br />Trips to medical facilities are supported through arrangements with <br />Orange Chatham Comprehensive Health-Services vans and E-Z Rider. <br />Amount: $ 34,514.00 <br />The increase of the trip cost from $1.47 in FY 1992 to $1.52 in FY 1993 <br />reflects an adjustment for inflation. <br />In -Home Aide Services: The provision of paraprofessional services <br />which assists disabled older adults and /or their families with <br />essential home management, personal care and /or supervision necessary <br />to enable the older adult to remain at home as long as possible. <br />Amount: $ 23,043.00 <br />•The Level I and Level II costs of $11.07 per hour is $.12 higher than <br />the estimated inflation adjustment of FY 1992's $10.95 per hour. <br />Budget increases are expected for aide salaries. <br />Institutional Res ite: Institutional Respite provides needed relief to <br />unpaid, primary care givers of persons who cannot be left alone through <br />temporary placement of the individual in a certified Adult Day Care <br />facility. <br />Amount: $ 3,000.00 <br />The unit price of $4.22-per hour reflects an increase of $.05 which is <br />$.10 lower than the estimated inflation adjustment. <br />Total Amount of Fiscal Year 1992 -93 Funding Plan $ 251,676.00 <br />• <br />3 <br />
