The contract includes costs for <br />preproduction, production and postproduction services, <br />technical assistance and project consultation for the <br />development of the project. <br />The original proposal was for $22,240. However, in an effort <br />to reduce costs, the County was able to procure donated <br />services from WTVD for video shooting. This donation resulted <br />in a reduction of $4,520 in the contract. The County <br />subsequently entered into a contract with Southern Media <br />Design and Production, Inc. for an amount not to exceed <br />$17,720. <br />Although the contract outlined the responsibilities and <br />an estimation of the work hours involved, taping the audio <br />narration proved to be more time- consuming than anticipated <br />(an additional time of approximately 3 1/2 hours). In <br />addition, the video was enhanced with the integration of <br />music. A fee of $600.00 was charged by the recording <br />company to permit our use of this copyrighted material. <br />Hence, the contract should be amended to include these <br />additional costs totalling $843.90. The total budget amount <br />for the 24 -Hour Project is $50,000. To date, expenditures for <br />the project include: <br />Expenditures: <br />Computer Hardware $18,680.10 <br />Training $ 8,000.00 <br />Kiosk $ 2,582.00 <br />Laser Disc Production $ 1,400.00 <br />Total Expended to date: $30,662.10 <br />
