�-Akazv �'Iepa� <br />(919)560- 4467 MEMORANDUM <br />�4z &F3 -4,?0 <br />April 29, 1991 <br />Marvin Collins, Director <br />Orange County Planning Department <br />306F Revere Road <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Marvin: <br />Several months ago we received a request from Coulter Associates for additional funds for preparation <br />of the New Hope Corridor Open Space Master Plan. We evaluated Mr. Coulter's request for $19,500, <br />and recommended $10,550 in additional compensation to be shared equally by the four jurisdictions <br />($2,637.50 each).. We communicated with your staff regarding this request and a memo was copied to <br />you which contained a summary of the request and our recommendations (attached). This request was <br />discussed at a Durham- Chapel Hill Committee meeting and the direction of the Committee was to bring <br />the request to the elected bodies. <br />The Durham Board of County Commissioners on July 8, 1991, gave the Planning Department permission <br />to pay from its budget the County's portion of the payment, conditional upon the City also agreeing to <br />pay its share. On April 20, 1992, the Durham City Council approved an additional $2.637.50 for <br />Coulter Associates. Therefore, we are proceeding to request checks and will be paying soon to Coulter <br />Associates a total of $5,275. <br />Please let us know if you are planning to take this request to your Board of County Commissioners, or <br />if you have already done so. If your Board will be considering this in the future, you can indicate that <br />Durham City and County have authorized and paid their share of the additional compensation.
