7
Staff has also reviewed Mr. Coulter's request for additional funds. While some of the
items for which Mr. Coulter has requested additional compensation seem to be within
the scope of the original agreement, staff recognizes that some of his work went well
beyond that anticipated in the contract. Staff acknowledges the ' greatly expanded
length of the Committee's planning process, and also notes that the Committee felt
it necessary to expand the boundaries of the plan geographically. Staff recommends
that the four jurisdictions provide additional compensation to Coulter in the amount
of $10,550. The agreement between the four jurisdictions "and Coulter Associates
provides for equal payment from each jurisdiction.
Therefore, staff supports the recommendation that the Durham City Council and Board
of County Commissioners each provide additional compensation to Coulter Associates
for the additional work, in the amount of $2,637.50. The Advisory Committee and
Planning staff will be conveying a similar request to the other jurisdictions.
cc: Roger Walden, Planning Director, Town of Chapel Hill
Marvin Collins, Planning Director, Orange County
Kenneth Coulter, Coulter Associates
Pearson Stewart, New Hope Creek Corridor Advisory Committee Chair
Vonda Frantz, Environmental Coordinator
