Also, the text itself is being <br />revised into a simpler format. The substantive changes proposed <br />in this amendment pertain to setbacks and square footage limits <br />for accessory structures used for home occupation purposes, on <br />lots larger than 200,000 square feet (Article 6.3). Staff will <br />be proposing changes to requirements for smaller lots, specific <br />standards related to traffic impacts, and additional standards <br />for home occupations which could potentially create nuisance <br />impacts, in a subsequent amendment. <br />Existing Provisions <br />The existing home occupation regulations are contained in <br />Articles 6.16.6.1 through 6.16.6.4. <br />6.16.6.1 provides standards for zoning districts with a minimum <br />lot size of about 1/2 acre or less.. <br />6.16.6.2 provides standards for lots smaller than 200,000 square <br />feet (4.6 acres) in the AR, R1 and RB zoning districts. <br />6.16.6.3 provides standards for lots larger than 200,000 square <br />feet in the AR, R1 and RB zoning districts. <br />6.16.6.4 contains application and approval procedures. <br />The underlying goal of home occupation standards is to minimize <br />any impacts of the home occupation and maintain the residential <br />character of the neighborhood. <br />
