(Source: <br />Report of the Task Force on Reducing Violent Crime and <br />Illegal Drug Use) <br />THE WORKING POOR <br />In 1987, 44% of Orange County residents held jobs in <br />the service sector where wages are traditionally low, <br />employment is part -time or seasonal, and opportunities for <br />advancement minimal.
