FA <br />ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM <br />EFLAND SEWER IMPROVEMENT AREA <br />APPLICATION SUMMARY <br />The proposed Efland Sewer CDBG Area is located in the <br />Cheeks Township of the County in an area bounded on the south <br />by Highway 85, on the west by Watson Road, east by Gaines <br />Chapel Road and on the north by the north side of Tinnen <br />Road. A map delineating the area is attached. This area is <br />plagued by malfunctioning septic systems, deteriorated <br />housing and the lack of water service. <br />In order to eliminate the above blighting conditions, <br />the following project activities are proposed: <br />ACTIVITY COST <br />ACQUISITION <br />-- Acquire 80,000 square feet of right -of -way <br />and easements for sewer and water improvements <br />-- Acquire 6 dilapidated dwellings $ 72,000 <br />SEWER IMPROVEMENTS <br />-- Construction of 4,500 if of 8" Sanitary Sewer <br />line; 2450 if 2" Force Main including installation <br />of a Pump Station -and 37 service connections $ 409,986 <br />SOUSING REHABILITATION <br />-- Repair 37 deteriorated houses $ <br />WATER IMPROVEMENTS <br />-- Provide public water service to two dwellings $ <br />CLEARANCE <br />-- Remove six deteriorated dwellings from the area $ <br />LOCAL OPTION PROGRAM <br />-- Repair nine deteriorated dwellings <br />-- Acquire one deteriorated dwellings <br />- -Clear one deteriorated dwelling <br />-- Provide water service to one dwelling <br />PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION <br />Ongoing Administration <br />TOTAL PROJECT COSTS <br />360,674 <br />5,000 <br />18,000 <br />$ 84,340 <br />$ 180,000 <br />$ 1,130,000 <br />.k- <br />i <br />
