t <br />the applicants have requested that a special public hearing be set <br />in conjunction with the May 26, 1992 hearing. <br />Rather than considering the University Station application at the <br />May 26 hearing, an amendment to Section 2.2.14.3 is proposed to <br />build in the flexibility needed by both private citizens and the <br />County to consider principal amendments out of sequence. A schedule <br />for considering the ordinance amendment as well as the University <br />Station application could be as follows: <br />ORDINANCE AMENDMENT <br />Ordinance Review Committee Second week in May <br />Planning Board review May 18 <br />Public hearing May 26 <br />'Planning Board recommendation First week in June <br />BOCC action June 23 <br />UNIVERSITY 1STATION APPLICATION <br />Planning Board review June 18 <br />Public hearing June 23 <br />Planning Board recommendation July 14 <br />BOCC action August 3 <br />This schedule is possible, since the Planning Board would need to <br />have a special meeting in June (first week) to prepare a <br />recommendation on the impact fee proposal. <br />EXISTING ORDINANCE PROVISIONS: See attached provisions. <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE PROVISIONS: The proposed amendment to Section <br />2.2.14.3 affects only the first sentence of the second paragraph. <br />That sentence would be reworded to read as follows: <br />Principal amendments shall _generally_ only be considered once each <br />year at the quarterly public hearing in February. <br />The addition of the word "generally" would be sufficient to allow <br />the Board of Commissioners discretion in calling special public <br />hearings on principal amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. <br />ORDINANCE REVIEW COMMITTEE: <br />PLANNING BOARD REVIEW: <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REVIEW: <br />it <br />
