MOTION: <br />D <br />required the home occupation structure to be locates <br />in an unsuitable location to the rear of the <br />residence. The desired location was in a wooded <br />area, several hundred feet from the road. The home <br />occupation could not be approved, even though the <br />use would have been heavily screened, and would not <br />be visible from the roadway. <br />The proposed amendments are the first step in a more <br />comprehensive overhaul of home occupation standards. <br />The.issues addressed at this time will revolve <br />situations which are more commonly encountered. <br />Staff will be proposing changes to requirements for <br />smaller lots, specific standards related to traffic <br />impacts, and additional standards for home <br />occupations which could potentially create nuisance <br />impacts, in a subsequent amendment. <br />The Planning Staff recommends that the proposed <br />amendments be presented for comment at the May 26, <br />1992 public hearing. <br />The proposed amendments and building setbacks are <br />attachments to these minutes on pages <br />Hamilton asked if a residence could have an outdoor <br />storage building and an accessory building. Scearbo <br />responded yes. <br />Reid asked what kinds of home occupations would <br />require a 2000 square foot building. Scearbo <br />responded that one large home occupation she was <br />aware of was a recording studio. She noted that in <br />some instances, the entire building was not used for <br />the home occupation. She also noted that there are <br />other requirements for home occupations regarding <br />impacts and the number of employees allowed. <br />Burklin moved approval of the Planning Staff <br />recommendation.
