will leverage nearly $2,000,000 in private investment in the single family <br />homes to be constructed on the site. <br />7. $252,000 in general funds earmarked for low income housing will be <br />expended during this fiscal year to provide 18 second mortgages for <br />Culbreth Park homebuyers. A total of 30 second mortgages will have <br />been provided to Culbreth Park over a two -year period, primarily serving <br />first -time homebuyers with incomes up to 80% of the area median. The <br />County also assisted with the Culbreth Park project through a <br />construction loan from the State's Small Cities CDBG Program. <br />8. Operating support for Orange Community Housing Corporation (OCHC) <br />includes $35,000 from Orange County, $35,000 from Chapel Hill, and <br />$10,000 from Carrboro. As a nonprofit corporation, OCHC can apply for <br />and use funds for which local participating jurisdictions may not be <br />eligible. The Town of Chapel Hill also provided $4,000 in operating <br />support to Triangle Housing Partnership. <br />9. Orange County and Carrboro will continue to submit applications for <br />Small Cities CDBG Grants for Community Revitalization activities. <br />10. Carrboro will continue its participation in the Rental Rehabilitation <br />program of the N.C. Housing Finance Agency as long as funds are <br />available. <br />11. Chapel Hill public housing residents, through the Housing and <br />Community Development Department, have applied for a $150,000 grant <br />from HUD for Drug Elimination activities in public housing units. <br />12. The Town of Chapel Hill will use funds under the Comprehensive <br />Improvements and Assistance Program of HUD for improvements to <br />several public housing developments.
